The Cox Employee Relief Fund (CERF) lends a helping hand, giving our people the support they need when tragedy falls on their shoulders.
Established in 2005, CERF has distributed more than $16 million dollars to aid more than 6000 employees.
CERF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to aiding Cox employees and their families facing various financial hardships caused by unexpected life events.

ILLNESS OR INJURY
A catastrophic injury or illness can create financial burdens generally not covered by any health plan.
- Modifications to a home or vehicle to accommodate paralysis, loss of mobility or reduced capacity
- Airfare, hotel or other travel expenses to enable treatment by a specialist for a rare condition
- Rent or mortgage payments
- Basic household utilities – gas, water, and electric bills

LOSS OF A FAMILY MEMBER
Basic funeral expenses can add up and most of us live apart from our extended families.
- Funeral expenses for an employee, spouse or domestic partner, child or parent
- Travel expenses or other accommodations for an employee to attend a funeral service

NATURAL DISASTER
Disasters can destroy homes and create major life disruptions and support is needed to recover from a tornado, fire, earthquake, snowstorm or flood.

- Rental cars to get employees to work and kids to school

- Basic household necessities including furniture, kitchenware, and linens

UNEMPLOYMENT
Unexpected loss of employment due to company closure or layoffs greatly impact a family’s ability cover the most basic of household expenses.

Having to move on short notice due to the sale or foreclosure of your rental home can cause significant stress when searching for new housing.
